This local love is all about one of the best restaurants in Boulder. Frasca Food and Wine shines as a hub of Italian culinary excellence, inspired by the flavors and traditions of northeast Italy. This Michelin-starred gem, co-founded by Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey, Chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson, and Peter Hoglund, delivers a dining experience that beautifully blends time-honored traditions with creative innovation. Frasca Food and Wine is dedicated to honoring the traditions of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a unique region where Alpine and coastal cultures blend. Inspired by the "frascas" of the past—cozy gathering spots marked by a tree branch and known for fresh food, wine, and warm hospitality—Frasca brings this spirit to life with a modern twist. This restaurants excellence hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2023, it earned a Michelin star and the Michelin Guide’s Outstanding Service Award. Over the years, it’s also received multiple James Beard honors, including Best Chef: Southwest in 2008 and awards for Outstanding Wine Service and Outstanding Service. Now that’s something to be proud of!

Frasca Food and Wine’s menu is all about celebrating fresh, high-quality ingredients and seasonal flavors from both Colorado and Italy’s Friuli region. The Quattro Piatti, a four-course tasting menu, features standout dishes like steelhead trout, duck ragu, cotechino sausage, and king salmon. They also cater to gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan diets, making sure everyone feels included. Pair your meal with something from their impressive wine list, boasting over 200 varieties from Friuli and beyond, with the team ready to help you find the perfect match. The knowledgeable staff is always on hand to guide guests through the offerings, ensuring each glass enhances the dining experience.

Something fun to note is that the restaurant also has several sister restaurants, offering a variety of different places in both Denver and Boulder for you to try that are under the same food and wine umbrella. Pizzeria Alberico, Sunday Vinyl, and Denver favorite Tavernetta make the list. If you’re a fan of fine dining, and good wine (and who isn’t)- Frasca, or one of their sister locations will surely satisfy your taste buds.
