Being a part of milehimodern allows us to participate in amazing events, connecting us with those in the local community and beyond. One of those events is The Susan G Komen, “More Than Pink Walk”. Uniting over 100,000 participants annually through more than 40 in-person walks and one virtual event nationwide, the Susan G. Komen Walk has raised over $60 million since its inception. This inclusive event welcomes all ages and abilities, offering a chance to connect, share stories, and support life-saving breast cancer research and programs. In 2022 alone, milehimodern raised over $5,000! As an agent at milehimodern, I am incredibly proud that we as an agency are involved in supporting this cause.

The color pink has been associated with breast cancer for far too long, but by wearing it proudly and in fun ways- wigs, tutus, or just simply anything pink at all, gives it new meaning. Participants are encouraged to wear their most fun, brightest pink attire to make it symbol of hope and inspiration. Breast cancer is the top cancer diagnosed after skin cancer, with one in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer in the course of their life (this information is provided by Breastcancer.org.) By coming together as a community, there is a supportive energy with this walk, showing those who have been affected they are not alone- there are people rallying around them always trying to help.

milehimodern is proud to be a part of this inspiring event year after year. The walk will take place this fall on Sunday, October 12th at Civic Center Park. This is for everyone of all ages, and of course, our furry friends are more than welcome to attend too! There are various walk lengths, so everyone can walk an amount that matches their level. If you cannot attend but would like to donate, that’s also a highly encouraged option. We are so grateful for those who participate in any way, no matter how big or small. We can’t wait to see you at this amazing event!
