Local Love: Taste of Louisville
The Taste of Louisville is an annual event held during the first weekend in June that we always eagerly anticipate. Given current global circumstances, this year’s community celebration will look a bit different. Our friends and neighbors at the Louisville Chamber have provided the following insight as to how you can best support the local establishments that help us Love Where We Live:
Now, more than ever, your local businesses need YOU! No better time to visit a new business or one you haven't visited in a while than during the Taste of Louisville, Support Local Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, June 5 & 6!
By shopping in Louisville, you not only get to personally pick out a gift for yourself or a special someone, but you are also helping a small business owner and neighbor!
We encourage residents to safely get out and support our local businesses who are offering many ways for you to shop safely, including:
Special services such as personalized shopping, private shopping appointments or Facetime shopping
Offers for curbside pick-up or local delivery
Online purchase of gift cards
Send your receipts from any Louisville business from June 5 & 6 to coordinator@louisvillechamber.com to be entered in a drawing for gift card to a chamber member!
Might we recommend a few of our favorites:
Moxie Bread: 641 Main Street - Our favorite community bakery, Moxie serves incredible fresh, unprocessed baked goods, all stemmed from the desire to nourish their neighbors and foster community. The rustic breads, flaky pastries, sandwiches, coffee and teas are all mouth-watering, it’s hard to pick a favorite item. (But if we did, it would be the King Egg, obviously.)
Verde: 640 Main Street - We love the Sonoran-style Mexican food from the restaurant who has a very simple motto: “Work Hard. Be Nice. Eat Burritos.” And their thirst-quenching margaritas are the perfect treat on a hot almost-summer day.
Punch Buggy Shave Ice: We are so excited that this cutest spot is back again for another summer. Located just next to Verde, serving authentic shaved ice made with 100% pure cane sugar and no artificial flavors or colors.
Pitter Patter: 720 Front Street - Go check out their beautiful new space and pick out some unique children’s gifts or adorable handpicked summer clothing.
Acme Fine Goods: 915 Walnut Street - The perfect time to do some shopping for Father’s Day - Acme offers long lasting, quality goods for your next adventure!
Eleanor and Hobbs: 901 Front Street - You know this is our FAVORITE place to shop in Louisville for gorgeous and personalized style, carrying well-known local brands and designer favorites.
Let’s show Louisville some Local Love and support this weekend!
The Singing Cook: 728 Main Street - Specializing in unique and special items that will add panache to any kitchen, the Singing Cook is the perfect local spot for bakeware, gadgets, utensils, cookware and more!
Assorted Goods: 706 Front Street - Feel like a kid in a candy store … in this incredible nostalgic small town candy store with a big heart! Offering classic sweet treats some fun surprises for kids of all ages.
